Indra Sjafri Reluctant to Fail at Second Moment of Asian Cup
The Asian Football Federation (AFC) has appointed Indonesia to host the AFC U-19 2018 Cup. Indonesian national team coach U-19, Indra Sjafri, is reluctant to fail for the second time.
This is the second chance to bring Indra Indonesia U-19 national team to appear in the U-20 World Cup. In the AFC Cup U-19 2014, Indra failed to bring Indonesia to the U-20 World Cup.
In the group stage, Indonesia U-19 national team battered by Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates, and Australia. The team that was then strengthened Evan Dimas Darmono was in a distended position without earning points.
“This is my second moment in the Asian Cup finals, I want to be more than the result of 2014 for the desire to qualify for the U-20 World Cup in 2019,” said Indra on the official PSSI page.
The former coach of Bali United is more confident with his current team. He is optimistic to bring the Indonesian national team U-19 to the U-20 World Cup final.
“The development of players is also good, they have a better chance than the previous one, especially when people care for the young national team is good, so if you want the senior team is strong, the youth team should be good,” Indra said.
AFC Cup U-19 will take place on 8-16 October 2018. By hosting, the qualifying results that followed the Indonesia U-19 national team will not be influential.
In the AFC U-19 Cup qualifying round, Indonesia U-19 national team joined in Group F. They are a group with hosts South Korea, Malaysia, East Timor and Brunei Darussalam.
